The construction of the villa, in its original form probably dates back to 1570 judging from its architectural aspect and the similarities in style with the Canonica of the church of S. Piero a Sieve which was reconstructed by Bernardo dei Medici in 1550.
The inside of the villa is divided into various large salons where the actual restaluant is located. There it is possible to admire the ceiling with its finely carved decorated beams. In the main salon, engraved on the stone fireplace is the coat of arms of the Medici family. On the facade of the villa is a smallshrine dedicated to S. Antonio Abate.
The owners of the villa were descendents of Alamanno dei Medici, founder of the church of S. Bartlomeo a Petrone under whose jurisdiction were the "Popolo della Torre". The villa also houses the family crest of the Calderini family due to the probable marriage at the time of one of the Medici with a member of that family.
On Aprii 25, 1838, Marchese Guasconi sold the villa to Sig. Egidio Casini Di Rabatta whose coat of arms (an armed cavalier with a growling lion by his side and on his head a crown of three diadems) can be seen above the doorway of the restaurant. There was also a small theatre inside the restaurant which is where the name comes from,. however, an earthquake devastated Mugello in 1919 causing the villa severe damage. It was restored but unfortunately not in its original state. The actual theatre is in the internal courtyard of the villa. The complex now belongs to the Frizzi Baccioni family who are descendent of Egidio Casini di Rabatta.
